Diversity Day

Congratulations to everyone who made today's Cultural Day such a success. The wellbeing team at Huntingtower put in a tremendous amount of work to set up today's events - all celebrating the diverse and inclusive community we have at this school. We loved seeing the meaningful costumes and pieces of cultural clothing worn by our students. There was a Cultural Day Assembly, as well as a costume competition, sausage sizzle, choir performance and French games!

Not a bad way to end Term 2.

Well done to everyone who contributed to such a colourful day!

Rayner Fundraiser

We love seeing the generosity of our Huntingtower community, and it was reflected last week when the senior school donated money to support the Sunrise of Africa School, Kenya. Over $2000 has been raised!

Well done to Mr Jones and the Rayner leadership team who organised the pizza day and bake sale.

Sport Grand Finals

EISM Term 2 Champions!

Two of Huntingtower's Year 8/9 sport teams made the EISM grand final last week.

Congratulations to mixed tennis (champions) and girls soccer (runners up).

Well done to our coaches Mrs Danielle Jones (tennis) and Mr Nick Johnson (soccer).

Year 8 Drama

In the last week of Term 2 the Year 8 Drama class held their final group performances. The objective was to adapt a popular kids story/movie into a funny theatrical performance.

Business Management Stalls

Well done to the Year 10 Business Management class who put their businesses and services on show this week! There were various stalls set up in the Student Centre, with stalls selling bubble tea, spiders, bake sales, noodles, soda toss, pie throwing and more...

Geography Excursion

As part of the Astronomy topic, the Year 10 Science students visited the Melbourne Planetarium to watch a presentation on blackholes. Whilst there, they also took the opportunity to look at many of the interactive exhibits at Scienceworks.

School Concert

Well done to Oscar L, Katherine N and all the students who participated in the pop-up music concert in the PAC this week. Oscar (aka. Shadi Shannon) performed on stage and it was great to see students supporting and cheering along. Thanks to Keira and Sophie (Year 9) for photos.

Formal 2022

Some more fun photos from the Formal (Thursday June 2) at the Vogue Ballroom!

Middle School Product Design

The Product Design Technology elective classes have been busy designing and producing this semester, using a mixture of computer-aided design, laser cutting, plastic bending and good old-fashioned woodwork skills. The students have gained valuable experience in applying the Design Process, as well as the experience of responding to a design brief and following their vision through to completion. The year 9 class produced the LED lamps and the chess sets, the Year 8 class produced the acrylic desk tidies, and the mobile phone stands were produced by the Year 7s and Year 8s.

Chess Club

What a turnout at chess club! Great to see so many boys and girls from various grades getting involved with this year's chess club activities - well done Mr Jones & Mr Warner!

Year 7 Sport

Well done to our Year 7s who have enjoyed their first ever Term of sport in the Senior School! Including football, soccer, mixed tennis and volleyball.

Senior Library

Huntingtower Students: Library Lovers!

“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.”

– Walt Disney

We have had an extraordinarily busy Semester 1 in the Senior Library. During Terms 1 and 2, students visiting the Library have completed five jigsaw puzzles, dozens of rounds of chess, and borrowed a staggering 2,892 books!

As Walt Disney would say, that is a lot of treasure!

Our Top 10 most popular books for Semester 1 were:

  1. One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus
  2. Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen M. McManus
  3. The Loop by Ben Oliver
  4. Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston
  5. Murder Most Unladylike by Robin Stevens
  6. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
  7. The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni
  8. The Promised Neverland, Volume 1 by Kaiu Shirai & Posuka Demizu
  9. Heartstopper, Volume 1 by Alice Oseman
  10. Alex Rider: Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz

In Semester 2, we look forward to celebrating Book Week in August with many fun activities and competitions planned.

Year 7 Political Parties

Our Year 7 students divided into groups for PBL (Project Based Learning) and today they put forth their pitches for Government Parties. Each party put together a slideshow, slogan and came up with policies to pitch the the class during 'The Great PBL Election'.

Year 7 Poetry

The Year 7s also had a poetry slam on Friday. Well done to all the students who presented, the poems were very engaging.

Senior Gym Upgrade

If you are wondering why all the sports trophies have disappeared from the foyer, they are now part of a new display in the mezzanine of the remodelled gym.

The quotes incorporated in the design reflect the importance of sport at HT.
