Solar Panel Fund

Be part of our future 'generation.'

By donating $450, the cost of one solar panel, you become one of our “Green” friends and families. To achieve a 200-kilowatt system we need 400 panels. This would produce 645 kilowatts per day on average and offset approximately 250 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year. This is the equivalent of planting 6,545 trees every year.

Click here: https://www.huntingtower.vic.edu.au/solar to make your tax-deductible contribution and be remembered for your donation. Families can also team up to make a joint donation.

THANK YOU ALL!

Child Safety Standards Update

New Child Safe Standards to strengthen Child Safety will commence at Huntingtower in Term 3.

The Child Safe Standards (the Standards) commenced in Victoria in January 2016. After five years, the Victorian Government have seen how the Standards have improved safety for children and young people. From 1 July 2022, eleven new Standards will replace Victoria’s current seven standards and principles. There are some unique features in the new Standards that will apply and be implemented at Huntingtower.

Commencing in Term 3, Huntingtower will begin changing their existing child safety policies, and will be developing new practices to ensure the School aligns with these new standards.

One of the new standards focuses on cultural safety for Aboriginal children and young people. The focus is on Creating organisations that properly include Aboriginal children, young people and their families, and that acknowledge and appreciate the strengths of Aboriginal culture, and how it can make such a difference.

Further information will be released in Term 3 on the changes to our existing child safe practices and the implementation of new practices. Further information for parents and carers is available on the Commission for Children and Young People website
