Thought for the week

“Do unto others as they'd want done unto them.” - Platinum Rule

This week we celebrated Cultural Diversity at Huntingtower and acknowledged the richness that this affords us. We are blessed to have such a diverse community. We are enriched when we take time to share and understand each other so we may learn and adapt our behaviour to be kind and respectful to others.

Camps

In the first week of next Term, we have the Year 9 Alpine Experience to Mt Buller. This is the first time this camp will have run since 2019, and we look forward to seeing all students enjoy the challenge and opportunity to make wonderful memories with their peers. In the second week of Term 3, the Year 11 students venture to Uluru. This residential program promises to be a wonderful experience and be one that will provide students and teachers with the opportunity to learn more about our Indigenous heritage and history.

Cultural Diversity Day

On Friday during our Cultural Diversity day, students were asked to wear traditional clothing or dress in the colours of their cultural flag. It was a great moment for everyone to celebrate Huntingtower's inclusive community.

Parent Teacher Interviews and Curriculum Day

During the upcoming break, we will be loading the Semester reports to the Parent Portal.

Next Term, the Parent/Teacher Interviews for the Junior and Secondary School will be conducted online via Teams. When you receive the reports, you will also be provided with further information regarding how to book interviews.

In the last HT Bulletin, I advised that we had moved the planned student-free day to Tuesday 16 August. With the large number of staff attending the Year 9 and Year 11 residential experiences, we have had to move the Secondary School Parent/Teacher Interview dates to Tuesday 9 and Tuesday 11 August.  As both of these days will be continuous and online learning days for the students, we have decided to move the student free day to Friday 16 September.

Medical Plans – Asthma/Anaphylaxis

Over recent weeks, we have become aware that some students are carrying asthma medication or adrenalin injectors to manage an anaphylaxis reaction and we have not been provided with any medical management plans or the medical needs of those students. It is essential that the School is provided with updated information so we can provide the best possible care to your children. We request all parents to review the medical information they have provided to the School and update this information immediately as circumstances change. This is particularly important as we prepare to take students on residential experiences. We thank you in advance for your support.

We wish all families a wonderful Term break and we look forward to seeing our students back on campus for the commencement of Term 3 on Monday 18 July.
