John XXIII Rowing Club

It is with sadness that I announce that the All Schools Regatta #2 has been postponed in the interest of safety.  Luckily, Rowing WA have had a back-up date of 2 July to reschedule this Regatta. All male rowers are asked to speak with their coaches if they are unable to attend. Most crew entries will be similar to this weekend. Thank you all in advance for your understanding.

Communication

As we head towards the back end of this season, I continue to encourage all rowers to communicate and communicate early with their coaches. If you are unable to train, please contact your coach through the TEAM APP as early as possible. This information is crucial in planning trainings and also entering crews in Regatta’s.

Head of the River Merchandise

All merchandise will land at John XXIII College during week 9. Our wonderful College Leadership Team have given their blessing for students to wear their HOR Hoodie for the remainder of this Term. Please note, this is only applies to the hoodie. Tracksuit pants, long sleeve tees and shorts are only permitted at the Regatta’s.

Head of the River – 25 June 25 2022

The time has finally arrived. John XXIII Rowing Club has been hard planning and preparing for this years’ hosting of the Head of the River. Many thanks to all parents and staff who have assisted in this event. We welcome all members of the John XXIII Community along to Champion Lakes to support our program. People will be able to purchase our famous egg and bacon rolls, raffle tickets, slices and cakes. All proceeds assist in the fundraising of the John XXIII College Rowing Club.

A final call out to male rowers to assist on the day of this Regatta. I am still after assistance so if you can help, please make contact as soon as possible.

A very big thank you must go out to all parents who have signed up to bake a cake or slice for us, and also for all of the behind the scenes work happening. In fear of omitting anyone, I won't list names, however, this thanks goes out to everyone assisting. One week to go, so let's make the most of the lead up.

Year 8 Term 3 Rowing Program

Thank you to families who have completed the enrolment forms. There is still time to enroll, so please email me if you would still like to enroll. Families will be emailed in Week 10 to inform all rowers of their training schedule and program information for Term 3, so stay tuned for more information.
