Year 2

This Term in Reading, the Year 2s have learnt about the Indigenous Australian culture, by listening to various books during our school’s celebration of NAIDOC week.  Students have also continued to make connections throughout the reading process, by using past experiences to relate to different stories.

In Writing, students have been working hard to improve the quality of their procedures.

This week students have become human snowmen, where we practised using verbs to describe how to dress in warm winter clothes.

In Maths, our Year 2s have been extending their ability to read numbers correctly, by applying their knowledge of place value.  Students have been able to build their skills in a variety of ways, including this snakes and ladders game, where students had to read the number they landed on accurately.

In Inquiry, students have been exploring the difference between constructed, natural and managed environments or objects. The Year 2s were able to find real life examples of the three different features, by exploring our school grounds as a class.  Students took photos and added them to Seesaw to demonstrate their understanding.
