Swinburne is running the following initiatives to assist Year 12 and families with the VTAC application process:

Science Writing

UNSW Bragg Student Prize for Science Writing. For students in Years 7 – 10. Applicants will write a short essay on ‘What is Science?’. Take CTRL: IT Bootcamp: Interested in where an IT degree can lead you?Monash University is running an IT bootcamp for students in Years 10 – 12 on Tuesday 27 September at the Caulfield campus. The bootcamp will enable you to be in the driver's seat for interactive workshops, hacking demonstrations and robot interactions. Biomedical Research Summer School

Regional Victorian Year 11 students are invited to apply for The Holsworth Biomedical Research Initiative Summer School at La Trobe University. The event will be held between 12 – 14 December at the Bendigo campus. Overseas gap years are back!

Year 12 students who are keen to explore overseas gap year opportunities should start planning soon. Companies are advertising opportunities for experiences such as:

- Adventure

- Volunteering

- Environment and animal conservation

- Work holidays

- Community care

- Teaching assistants

- Au pair/nanny

- Skiing

- Boarding house assistant

Students will need to take into consideration budgets, safety advice for travellers, if the position will be paid, if accommodation and meals will be provided, and if they will have 24 hour support from the company etc.

This on-campus event is for students interested in studying Fine Art, Curating, Design or Architecture. Students will participate in hands-on workshops and learn about Monash courses. The program will run during the term break.
