Wellbeing 

Welcome to Term 3 in wellbeing. This term looks to be a big one with Wear it Purple Day, R U OK day and Koonung Day coming up. We also recently received an assortment of pride pins, stickers and lanyards. Come on down to wellbeing if you’d like any.

Mindfulness Mondays 

Mindfulness Mondays now takes place in MYC1. It is still every Monday at lunch time. It has been great to see more students getting involved in mindfulness activities during their Monday lunchtimes. It is a great space to take a break during your busy day. Keep an eye out on compass for when Sara and the Youth Advisory Group from Headspace will be joining us for activities such as making key rings and cool down jars. Headspace Hawthorn is hosting a trivia night in celebration of Wear it Purple Day. Come on down to Mindfulness Mondays and ask Sara any questions you may have about it. 

Posters & pamphlets around the school

We have been busy in the wellbeing team thinking of ways to make wellbeing easier to access for students. Students may have noticed around the school, in the senior centre and A block, we have posters and pamphlets explaining what we do in wellbeing and how a student can access wellbeing support. Eryn also did a compass post with the poster attached and students can email us or drop in to wellbeing with any questions. We are also looking forward to see how else we can improve wellbeing at Koonung with the upcoming student forum run by the SRC. 

Wellbeing captains 

Our Wellbeing captains, Cara and Milli, have been continuing to promote wellbeing through out the school. Keep an eye out on compass for their fortnightly posts about simple ways to better your mental health.
