Hello, from our students and teachers.

Hello from Grade 6C- Ms. Jacinta Condon.

Science

This term the Grade 6 students have been looking at States of Matter. We have conducted a few experiments so far and have enjoyed hypothesising and then recording our results.

We have also been investigating how different particles in solids, liquids and gases behave and what happens to these particles when a change of state occurs.

Buddies

This term we have also spent time with our buddies in Foundation Q.  We find working with our buddies is rewarding and requires patience but Mrs Quarrier is super organised and always sets up fantastic activities for use to do.  Last week we were very lucky and helped our buddies to decorate biscuits, make baskets and create wanted posters based on the story of Little Red Riding Hood.  We had a great afternoon and look forward to seeing our buddies again this week.

Thanks Mrs Quarrier and the students in Foundation Q.

This term we will be looking at the virtues and actions which lead to empathy. Empathy has been identified as an essential character trait for a socially and emotionally intelligent member of society. The next virtue is tolerance/acceptance.

VIRTUE – tolerance/acceptance

ACTIONS

  • The habit of accepting and respecting difference.
  • The habit of accepting things you cannot change.
  • The habit of avoiding judgement.
  • The habit of forgiving faults and the patience to work with them.

We will:

  • know our feelings and take charge of them;
  • respect the rights and traditions of others;
  • not say nasty things about people or spread rumours;
  • listen beyond what is said to know how it is said.
