Hello, from Carolyn.

Hello everyone!

2022 DET Parent/Guardian/Caregiver survey.

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. We encourage all families to participate in this survey. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

This year, all families are invited to participate in the survey so please keep an eye out for a link being emailed next week.

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 15th August to Friday 16th September.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.

If you have any questions about the survey, please get in touch.

Library book recovery program!

We have a lot of books missing from our Library. Students with overdue books have already taken home one reminder note asking them to please find and return the book/s. If you know that your child has brought home one of those notes, or you think some of our library books might be hiding under a  bed or in a cupboard in your home, please have a big search and send them back to us. At this stage, we would need to spend more than $1,000 to replace all the books that are overdue! That's $1,000 we would love to spend on adding to our library, not replacing unreturned books.

Book Week dress up day Friday 26 August.

There is lots of talk amongst the staff about dress ups at the moment- Book Week does that to teachers! You are welcome to join us for our Book Week parade. We will be on the basketball court after the 8:45am bell goes.

And I am throwing out a Book Week challenge to you grown ups- come to our parade dressed up as a character from one of your favourite books and let's see if we can guess who you are!

Cuppa with Carolyn.

See you on Friday for 'Cuppa with Carolyn', 2:30pm. Meet in the staffroom.
