From the Assistant Principal
Presentation Evening
Our annual Presentation Evening will be held on Tuesday 17 December 2019. This special gathering of our school community will be held in the college gymnasium on Tuesday 17 December July from 6:30pm. All award winners in Years 7-12 must wear FULL summer school uniform and need to be seated by 6:10pm. Parents, siblings and guests are to be seated by 6:15pm.
If you would like to reserve a seat, please click here to indicate the number of seats you will require prior to midday on Monday 16 December.
Awards will be presented in four categories:
- Academic Excellence awards recognise outstanding academic achievement across the breadth and depth of the curriculum.
- Endeavour awards are presented for outstanding effort, attitude and application by students. Award winners have been nominated by their teachers.
- Special awards acknowledge excellence in the fields of sport, special interests, and community service.
- Scholarships and bursaries.
All students receiving awards will be required to attend a rehearsal on Tuesday 17 December 2019. This will assist us in making sure that the event runs smoothly on the night. Students can dress in casual clothes and will need to be at school by 1.00pm and will be dismissed no later than 3.00pm. The canteen will not be open. Students will not be supervised prior to 1.00pm.
Students who are not receiving an award are not required at the rehearsal.
Uniform
With holidays rapidly approaching, many families will need to update items of uniform. Items may need to be adjusted, mended or replaced. Similarly, expectation around piercings, facial hair and clothing remain unchanged for next year. Please familiarise yourself with the college’s uniform policy if you are unsure of what is expected. Here are some important reminders:
Dresses, shorts and skirts
All hemlines should be no more than 5cm above the knee. As our students grow, the length of their garments may need to be adjusted accordingly.
Shoes
Black leather lace up school shoes (no T-bars allowed). Gym shoes/runners are not to be worn except for PE. Thongs, sandals, and boots are not acceptable footwear.
Hair
When students return from holidays, hair styles should not be extreme. This relates to cut, colouring and length. Hair is to be worn in a neat and tidy manner. If hair is coloured it must be a natural hue.
Facial hair is not permitted and students are expected to be clean shaven at all times.
Jewellery and makeup
A reminder that the only jewellery permitted is:
- Two pairs of earrings (surgical sleepers or studs) in the ears only. These must be plain gold or silver (no colours). Maximum diameter of stud is 3mm. Maximum diameter of sleeper is 10mm. No other piercings are permitted.
- Watch
- Any other jewellery is not to be visible.
- Makeup and coloured nail polish are not part of the uniform and must not be worn.
