It is with great pride that I thank all members of the GEC community for all that you have done to make 2019 another wonderfully successful year for our students and our college. I am so proud of our students, staff, parents and community. I appreciate the work that you all do in supporting our students to achieve the very best they can in all aspects of their lives at GEC.
I would like to thank Ruth Gordon - Council President and the School Council, Parents and Friends Association and all other volunteers who contribute so much to the College.

- Various music performance evenings showcased the musical talents of our students.
- The Year 8 and 9 camps were huge successes.

We had 7 students competing in National Athletic championships in Perth achieving wonderful results at this very high level.
- Our students did extremely well with GEC coming 6th in Australia - all should be so very proud of their achievement.
- William Wong, Year 8: First in the Hurdles and is the new National Champion

Mobile Phone Policy
Thank you to all parents, students, staff and School Council for their support of our Mobile Phone Policy. We have reviewed and refined our policy in line with the DET new mobile phone policy effective as of Term 1 2020.
Glen Eira College understands that students may bring a mobile phone to school, particularly if they are travelling independently to and from school or to extra-curricular activities.
While at Glen Eira College, in the buildings or outside on the grounds, at any time prior to the end of the school day phones must be switched off and locked securely in the student’s locker.
After the end of the school day (after 3.07pm), students may access their phones as long as they are not in the school building.
- Exceptions to this policy may be applied if certain conditions are met
- When emergencies occur, parents or carers should reach their child by calling the General Office.
Mobile phones owned by students at Glen Eira College are considered valuable items and are brought to school at the owner’s (student or parent/carer) risk. Students are encouraged not to bring a mobile phone to school unless there is a compelling reason to do so.
Please note that Glen Eira College does not have accident insurance for accidental property damage or theft. Students and their parents/carers are encouraged to obtain appropriate insurance for valuable items. Students are responsible for items brought to school.
Students who use their mobile phone in breach of this policy will have their phone confiscated and stored at the General Office. For students who repeatedly breach this policy a parent / carer will need to collect the student’s phone.
Please click on the link below to see the full policy or go to our school website.
