Please donate your unwanted uniform items to the office for these stalls by Friday 13th December. This is a donation to the school and families will not receive any payment for their items. Please ensure that all items are in reasonable condition and have been washed and dried before you bring them in.
We cannot sell items that are no longer part of the college uniform, such as polar fleece jackets or the older-style all grey sports tops (sports tops in the current style - with red sleeves- are very welcome). Helpers at the stalls and sorting get first choice for purchases.

Glen Eira Parents Association Meetings – newcomers welcome
All GEC parents and guardians welcome – this is a great chance to meet some school families and help the school. Our meetings are friendly and informal, and your level of involvement is up to you. If you are interested in being involved, want to come to any of our meetings or are not already receiving our emails, please send an email to gecpa@gec.vic.edu.au.
Volunteers are welcome even in a small way. We know not everyone is able to make a regular commitment, but we also rely on people who turn up just once or more during the year to help out a little, adn we would love to have more people to join our committee. If you are interested in finding out more, please send an email to gecpa@gec.vic.edu.au.

Year 11 and 12 Maths scientific calculators – collection
Are you finishing with your scientific calculator at the end of the year and would like to donate it to the school? GECPA will be collecting calculators in a box by the office after VCE exams and will offer them to the Wellbeing team for students as needed and sell the remainder at half new price to other students. Please don’t let your students throw them in the bin as they are expensive and valuable for other students!

Please offer your books to younger students at Glen Eira College or other schools or sell on Sustainable Books or Gumtree. Please discourage your students from throwing textbooks in the bin or leaving them in lockers.

Glen Eira Council bike and walking plans and safe cycling route from Djerring Skyrail Trail to St Kilda Road and Bay
Glen Eira councillors will soon be considering plans to make walking and cycling safer in Glen Eira. Including GEC, some 9000 students attend schools along Glen Eira, Booran and Neerim Roads in addition to staff and Monash Uni students. These streets connect 3 libraries with homework help, shopping centres and the Bay. The current painted bike lanes disappear just when most needed at intersections and have no buffer from traffic that would make students safer to ride to school. Glen Eira Council is considering its first safe cycling corridor with a separated bike lane from the Skyrail/Djerring Trail to new St Kilda Road lanes along either Inkerman, Alma or Dandenong Roads. This safer route would connect Glen Eira to Dandenong, Monash campuses and the city and should be extended to the Bay and would be great for students, families and workers. The Dandenong Road option is a poor alternative with heavy fast traffic, pollution and poorer safety. November and early December are a good time contact your local Councillors to support these initiatives or raise any concerns ahead of Council decision on Tuesday 17th December.
If you would like to discuss Glen Eira Transport Planning issues or join a Glen Eira Bicycle Users Group Sunday morning ride contact Cathy McNaughton on 0412 119 807.
