Deputy Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers
Harmony Week
Harmony week culminated in our own St Finbar's celebration last Friday. It was wonderful to see the colourful outfits throughout the day, including many students who came in traditional cultural dress. Thank you to all families who worked on your family's mini-poster - these are currently displayed around the school (mainly in the Junior corridor) and are a great visual representation of our school's cultural diversity.
Resilience Project seminar
Our access to the recording of the Resilience Project parent seminar will expire tomorrow 31st March. This is your last chance to view it for those who couldn't make it to the live session,
Here is the recording link

It is available for Parents who hold a Centrelink Health Care Card and have a CRN number. Once it is completed please return it to Libby in the office before the 23rd June, 2023.
Social Emotional Learning
This week the Year 2 students were roleplaying during their SEL session. Roleplay is a powerful way for students to learn and practise strategies that they can use when they find themselves in particular situations. The Year 2 students were presented with common scenarios that could occur in the playground.
These included:
Alana can't find someone to play with on the playground.
Each roleplay initiated a class discussion around times when they may have experienced these scenarios and what they can do if they find themselves in these situations, and just as importantly what they can do to support others in these situations.
