Principal's Report

Principal's Message

Dear Families,

We would like to take a moment to thank everyone who attended our Casino Evening in the school hall on Saturday night. Your support and enthusiasm helped to make the event a great success and we are extremely grateful for your attendance.

The evening was filled with excitement, laughter, and friendly competition as parents and staff members enjoyed a variety of casino games and activities. The atmosphere was electric as people tried their luck at roulette, blackjack, and poker, and we were thrilled to see so many people getting involved and having fun.

We would like to extend a special thank you to our dedicated Year 5 team led by Kate Blake who ran the event, and to our generous sponsors who donated prizes and supplies. Without your support, we would not have been able to host such a memorable evening.

We are pleased to announce that the funds raised from the Casino Evening will be used to support various school initiatives, including the improvement of our outdoor learning areas. Your contribution will go a long way in helping us to provide the best possible learning environment for our students.

Once again, we would like to thank everyone who attended the Casino Evening for their support and enthusiasm. We hope that you had a wonderful time and we look forward to seeing you at future school events.

Harmony Day Celebrations

Last Friday, our school celebrated Harmony Day with an amazing array of activities, promoting inclusion and diversity from different cultures. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you Ms Hill and the Year 6 Wellbeing leaders who put in a lot of effort to make the event a huge success.

The theme of Harmony Day is 'Everyone Belongs' and it was wonderful to see our students embrace this message and come together to celebrate diversity and inclusion.

Ms Hill and the Year 6 Wellbeing leaders deserve special recognition for their leadership and dedication to making this event a success. Their hard work and commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within our school community is greatly appreciated.

Overall, the Harmony Day celebrations were a fantastic example of our school community coming together to celebrate diversity and promote a sense of belonging.

Story Dogs Visits

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to Story Dogs for their recent visit to our school. The experience was truly magical and brought joy to both students and staff alike.

For those who may not know, Story Dogs is a wonderful organization that aims to improve children's literacy skills by providing access to specially trained reading dogs. These furry companions help to create a relaxed, non-judgmental atmosphere that encourages children to read aloud with confidence and enthusiasm.

During their weekly visits to St. Finbar's School, the Story Dogs team bring along several of their friendly canines and spent time with students from the Year 2 and 3 classes. The children were delighted to meet the dogs and had a lot of fun reading to them. We could see the positive impact that this program had on our students, not only in their reading skills but also in their overall sense of well-being.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Story Dogs team for their commitment to improving literacy outcomes for children. Their visits to our school is a real treat, and we are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this program. We also want to acknowledge the incredible work of Ms Davis in coordinating this event and ensuring that everything runs smoothly.

Open Day Tours

I would like to thank the Year 5 and 6 students who have helped us to conduct School Open Day tours this Term.

The children have demonstrated an impressive level of responsibility, maturity, and professionalism throughout the three official days. They have shown prospective parents and students around our school with enthusiasm, providing them with valuable insights into what it's like to be a student here.

Their efforts have contributed significantly to the success of our Open Days, and we have received numerous positive comments from visitors about their experience. We are proud to have such outstanding students who represent our school with the utmost pride and respect.

We believe that the involvement of our Year 5 and 6 students in such events is an essential part of their development. They have the opportunity to showcase their leadership skills, build their confidence and communication abilities, and connect with others in their community. We hope that this experience will be a positive and rewarding one for them, and they will cherish these memories for years to come.
