MOPA Foundie Excursion

Last Wednesday the Foundation students went on their very first school excursion, and what an awesome first place to visit; the Museum of Play and Art (MOPA) in Sandringham. For some students, being on a very very big bus was the most exciting part of the day and it was a bit of a journey getting there, but it was well worth it. At MOPA we all became experts at PLAY, exploring wind rooms, climbing through a huge wooden city, building towers and bridges and seeing who could build and race the fastsest car. We even had a chance to an immersive story time and costume filled dance party. The staff at MOPA were fantastic, leading the children through all of the exhibits and provoking lots of ideas and wonderings in the children. Both the children and the adults had a great experience at the Musuem of Play and Art. Thank you to the wonderful Foundation volunteers we had join us too.

The next day in our Writer’s Workshop session, we looked over videos and images of our excursion. We used our class’ Writer’s Notebooks for inspiration and wrote about some of our favourite experiences of the day to share with the rest of the school. Please see below some writing pieces from our Foundation children.
