A Message from Hannah & Keir

We would like to acknowledge and honour the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which our school stands. We pay our respects to all First Nations elders, past present and emerging.

Cross Country

Last Friday was the annual Cross Country, where our students in grades 3 - 6 participated in running a fair distance around the school. There was excellent participation across the year levels and plenty of colours to represent both team pride and to remember Isabel - one of our students who sadly passed away a few years ago.

Some of our faster students will qualify for the District championships and we wish them the very best of luck for that next phase. However no matter where students came in the race, we were so pleased by the team spirit and persistence demonstrated by everyone.

We also want to say a big thank you to the parents and carers who came along to help rangle runners and cheer on children - your help is always greatly appreciated and your chalk-work is inspiring!

BNWPS Staff Conference

This Thursday and Friday (23 & 24 March) are student-free days, while our staff engage in two days of professional learning on our approach to Guided Play & Inquiry. Throughout these two days we are digging deeper into how we can authentically follow students’ thoughts, questions and interests while meeting curriculum expectations and responsibilities.

We are excited to have guests from a neighbouring school and a DET Kindergarten representative - both of whom are interested in adopting our approach to Guided Play and Inquiry.

If you need supervision for your child/ren on one or both days, please contact OSHC to register for our engaging and affordable whole-day childcare.

COVID Safety Reminder

As the weather begins to cool and increased rates of COVID are being reported across the country, we ask that families remain vigilant in assisting us to limit the spread of COVID-19 or any other viruses. Please keep your child at home if they are sick. While it is not mandated to inform the school if positive, we appreciate families informing us when students have been infectious while on site - RATs are available at the office for anyone who is running low.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation in this important mission.
