Term 1 Art report - From your 2023 Art Captains

Scarlett D, Sage H, Peter N and Adrian B

This term we have been busy in the Art room with drawing and painting. The Art Captains for 2023 would like to bring you an Art Report each term to show you the wonderful creativity that has been displayed across the school.

Foundation:

The fabulous foundation students indulged in epic lessons about lines, had heaps of fun making line lanterns {which are currently on display in the Art Gallery hallway.}

They made some amazing line robots, learnt about texture in their colouring, and painted some stunning colour wheel birds with their newfound knowledge of primary and secondary colours.

Grade One & Two

The wonderful one's and terrific two's also had lots of fun in their line work, and were filled with some wonderful knowledge about the artist Keith Haring, and used it to paint some stunning Keith Haring figures {Currently on display in the Art Gallery hallway and in classrooms.}

The Grade 1’s heard the Wiradjuri story of the Guulaangga the green tree frog and created some fun froggy pieces with oil pastels and watercolour paints.

The Grade 2’s learnt all about aboriginal symbols and storytelling. They then created their own symbols, that they then used to tell their very own super cool picture story using watercolour paints and inks.

Grade Three and Four

The thrilling three's and fabulous four's learnt about the wonderful artist Reg Mombassa and the 4 parts of a landscape.

They then used this knowledge to assist them in their creating of their very own beautiful landscape paintings {On display in the Art Gallery hallway and in classrooms.}

To create these masterpieces, they used watercolours and watercolour pencils. They also began learning about the surrealist artist Joan Miro, and even began creating their own dreamscape print.

Grade Five and Six

The Fantastic Five's and Spectacular Sixe's had heaps of fun learning about the inspiring artist Dawn Tan.

They then had even more fun creating some of their own wonderful art pieces, starting off with observational drawings and ending with colourful, lifelike watercolour paintings.
