Student Learner Agency Reflections

From Monday April 3rd, end of Term 1, Student Learner Agency Reflections will be posted onto Seesaw for students in Grades 1 – 6. Foundation students will complete a Learner Agency Reflection at the end of Term 3 alongside the whole school. This student led piece of communication will replace previously completed Student Progress Reports. They will compliment a Student Semester Report available in June and December that is composed by the teachers.

Learner Agency Reflections will allow our students to think about what they have achieved in Term 1 and give consideration to areas that they would like to continue to develop into the future. Being able to have an acknowledgement of your own achievements and an understanding of future directions is a key skill for any learner.

Students who are empowered to take ownership of their learning understand and contribute to the development of learning intentions, are invested in the assessment processes and monitor their own learning and improvement. As students become invested in their own learning, they gain a better understanding of what good learning is and the purpose of it. This enables them to evaluate their own work, and to more purposefully discuss progress and achievement with their teachers.

It is a great opportunity for parents/carers to check in with your children and to discuss their learning to this point of the year.
