Positive Behaviour Support

Introduction of Positive Behaviour Support

As advised last year Belmore School is implementing the Positive Behaviour Support framework to assist students with learning socially acceptable ways to behave and interact with others across all school environments.

Following an extensive process to engage the entire school community in determining which positive expected behaviours are most important to our school, we have introduced the following four behaviours:  Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Your Best, Be Respectful.

Kelly, our PBS Leading Teacher introduced these four behaviours at a special whole school assembly last week and all staff have now commenced promoting these behaviours through strong visuals, constant modelling, and explicit teaching.

Our behaviour of focus to begin with is:

Ana is being safe on the bus with her seatbelt on.
Natalie and Maryam are sitting safely on the mat.
Saad is being safe by demonstrating safe hands.

Your support in identifying safe behaviour at home will assist our students to understand the importance of being safe.
