Positive Climate for Learning Update

AFTER SCHOOL DETENTIONS

Thank you for your support this term as our Student Code of Behaviour has been launched.

Students have been very supportive and responsive of this, understanding that if they are exited from the classroom, after being given opportunities to engage with their teacher and the curriculum, they will receive an after-school detention.

STUDENT SUPPORT

Please be aware that each school year level has two Student Coordinators and a Year Level Leading Teacher to assist and support our students and families/carers.

These teams can also assist with Wellbeing Team referrals for students, meaning that in total the school has twenty-four staff with roles of responsibility in ensuring students and families/carers are well supported.

If you would like to make contact with a member of your child’s year level team, please don’t hesitate to via XUNO or via the front office.

STUDENT TOILET ACCESS DURING CLASSTIME

Just to clarify the message all families/carers received last Friday about our student toilets – all students have toilet access during class time. The toilets near the school library, in the courtyard, will be open before and after school every day, and locked during class time.

Any student who genuinely needs to use the toilet will be permitted to – with a note from their classroom teacher.

This has been done to ensure students are leaving class for genuine reasons, utilising class time, and that property damage does not occur.
