YEAR 5 CAMP / YEAR 6 CANBERRA TOUR

I would like to thank all our students for their participation and enthusiasm both on Milson Island and in Canberra, as well as our staff members who worked tirelessly to ensure both trips were a great success.  Thank you also to those of you who took the time to send in thanks (and cupcakes!) to our teachers – we may not be able to respond to every email, but please know that we saw them and appreciate them.  We look forward to planning more trips in the future, and hope to continue providing these incredible opportunities for our students to grow, learn, and thrive.

Thank you also to those parents who have supported their boys to complete the post-Canberra survey.  The feedback I get from the boys will help to inform decisions about next year’s Canberra trip.

BIBLE LITURGY

Yesterday, those boys who are new to the Junior School received their very own copy of the Holy Bible in a special liturgy prepared by Mr Mulheron.  The boys enjoyed hearing Mr Morris talk about receiving his first Holy Bible and learning about the impact the stories in his bible have had on him at different times throughout his life.

Thank you to those parents who were able to join us for this liturgy.

OPEN DAY THIS SATURDAY

Everyone in the Junior School is very much looking forward to showing off our wonderful College to potential new families this Saturday.  Many thanks to the boys and families who have volunteered to contribute in some capacity; the day will be all the greater for your involvement in it.

We congratulate Cristiano who has been a great ambassador for Junior Sport across a range of activities.

NSW State Primary Cricket selection

It is with great pleasure that I announce James Sykes (Year 6) has been selected in the NSW PSSA Cricket team that will compete in the State Championship in June up at Darwin. NSTA Tennis

The sun was out and a light breeze was blowing, yet another perfect day for tennis. Kody Tabalon and Sam Hernandez (SPX 17) played an excellent match as a team winning 18 sets to 1. Excellent sportsmanship was shown by these players with a great outcome. It was also fantastic to see Jason Bau, Linas Magyla and Maximus Boliaris rise to the occasion and win their match against Cammeraygal 2 sets to 1. These boys didn’t know each other 5 weeks ago and their teamwork has really shone through. Jayden Meguerditchian, Alex Houghton and Jake Rezsdovics (SPX 22) had a cracker against Reddam 5, winning all 3 sets. Thank you to Lucas Halim, Izaac Tan, Lucas Youngman and Aiden Seifert for mentoring and umpiring again.

The 10:00 am matches were set to be exciting ones. SPX 1 and SPX 3 were duelling for the top spot on the ladder ahead of next week’s finals. SPX 3, Boston Bannister and Jake Yu played some great tennis and together secured the top place winning 2 sets to 1. Matthew Lee, Yuri Kim and Jack Fairbanks played some close matches and although they tied with Barker in Games, Pius was just ahead in sets, winning 2-1. Adam Fitrzyk and Will Scaiff (SPX 10) played some excellent tennis and have secured themselves a place in the finals next week.

Please note that ALL players will be playing next week in the finals and play offs. Tennis commitments also come before any commitments to Open Day

Please keep an eye out on the draw for the games next Saturday. The draw should be ready by Wednesday: https://www.xpointsports.com/region/325/currentEvents
