From the Principal

Celebrating student growth and achievement

As incoming Principal, there have been many instances since my commencement that have filled me with pride as I join the Moama Anglican Grammar Community.

It is a long-standing tradition in all schools that students who have been appointed to positions of leadership are duly acknowledged and inducted into their leadership roles at the start of each year through events such as our Commencement Assembly.

Another important tradition is the celebration of Year 12 or HSC student achievements.

Through this link we provide access to a highlights summary which celebrates the outstanding achievements of our 2022 HSC students, in addition to those students who have been recognised for their significant achievements within their chosen Vocational Education and Training (VET) studies.

From Kindergarten to Year 12, I continue to learn about the significant growth and achievements of our students whether that be within our Academic Program, our Co-curricular Program, our Extra- Curricular Program, Community Service or with reference to living and modelling our schools core values of Compassion, Respect and Integrity.

I take this opportunity to congratulate ALL of our students for their growth and achievements throughout 2022. WE are proud of you!

I encourage all students to continue to challenge yourselves and try new things. Making the most of all of the learning experiences that Moama Anglican Grammar has to offer and ‘stepping out of your comfort zone’ will support you to grow and thrive.

As we continue to work together as a school community to prepare our students and your children for their unwritten futures and to graduate them as young people of character who possess the skills and attributes to navigate an increasingly complex world, it is most important to me that we recognise growth and achievement in a variety of forms.

Perhaps my proudest moment since my commencement has been reading the Dux of our HSC for 2022, Harper Raverty’s reflection in the Riverine Herald. Harper’s reference to the importance of supporting her community during the floods despite this impacting the HSC Exams provided a terrific example of the character and perspective in our graduating students that to me, is equally if not more important than her academic achievements.
