DEPUTY PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

MS CATHERINE HOWISON - DEPUTY PRINCIPAL

On Wednesday we had our first formal assembly. Along with recognising the achievements of our students and the activities that are being offered at our school it was an opportunity to talk about our uniform. We are in a transition period as we move towards all students wearing our new uniform. Currently all our Year 7s wear the ‘new’ uniform, while our 8 - 12 students have started to adopt some of the newer options.

As the weather starts to change students will be looking to layer up to keep warm and the following uniform guidelines will be in place for this year:

  •  Students (Year 8 – 12) may wear the current summer or winter uniform in any term.
  •  Students may wear the current blue polo with either the shorts, long pants or skirt.
  • The new short sleeve shirt may be worn, either under a jumper or under the new jacket.
  •  Students may also wear the traditional blue cotton long sleeve shirt, must also wear this tucked in and with a tie.
  • The new style long sleeve shirt, which has a straight cut and does not require tucking in can be worn without the tie and under the new style jacket.
  • Tights or socks can be worn with the tartan skirt.
  •  Students must not wear stockings/tights under the cotton dress without permission
  • The older style jacket with the white piping can still be worn but must always be worn over the maroon jumper.
  • Black socks are not part of our school uniform nor are black runners.

There is much more flexibility with our uniform items now. Students can choose to wear the uniform items based on the weather and their comfort level. Whichever they choose we ask that the correct items are worn and are worn well. Students should not be wearing PE uniform unless the day dictates it.

Thank you for a wonderful term, I hope all our families have a lovely holiday. May everyone enjoy the blessing of Easter.
