Harmony Day

In Australia, 21 March is Harmony Day - a day for us, as a nation, to celebrate the richness of our diverse, multicultural society.

At St Mary's, we marked the day by encouraging students to design their own flags. These flags were either connected to their cultural heritage or they reflected the personal identity of students.

By the end of the day, we had a wonderful collection of flags produced by both Junior and Senior students which will soon be displayed around the College.

The Feast of the Annunciation

Each year, on 25 March, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Annunciation. This feast recognises the importance of Mary's 'yes' to God when he invited her to be the mother of Jesus, the Son of God. This day is important for us at St Mary's College, but it is also important to us all because Mary represents all of humanity. We are all encouraged on this day to think about how we can say 'yes' to what God is calling us to do in our lives, 'yes' to love, 'yes' to justice, 'yes' to compassion, 'yes' to forgiveness.

We observed this day at the College with a series of liturgies for the Junior School and a Senior School Mass in the Cathedral celebrated by Fr Leonard Caldera. Special thanks go to Scott Weston, Learning Leader of Performing Arts, and the Senior Choir for their beautiful and prayerful music.

Vinnies Easter Egg Appeal

Easter wouldn't be Easter without the joy of opening that bunny or choccy egg! To ensure everyone gets the chance to experience this, we would love any donations - big or small - of Easter treats to provide to those less fortunate in our community. Whether it's a bunny or a hamper of chocolate eggs, these donations will go straight to those in need via Loui's Van or direct to homes.

If families would like to be involved, contributions can be brought into Student Services any time before Thursday 6 April, when they will be delivered to Vinnies.
