Term 1 sport - it's a wrap!

As Term 1 concludes, I take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers who have supported their children in their desire to represent St Mary’s College in one of the sport rosters this term.

I would like to particularly thank those parents/carers who have taken on the role as coach or manager – your contribution to our students’ lifelong enjoyment and participation in sport is invaluable and the College cannot thank you enough.

The benefits and enjoyment of participating in sporting teams is immeasurable - the smiles on the faces of the children pictured below say it all!

The Year 3/4 soccer team is kicking goals this term!

I look forward to the rest of the sporting year being as successful as Term 1.

Interschool swimming

Our 3-6 interschool swim team took to the pool at Doone Kennedy Aquatic Centre on Monday 27 March to compete in the JSSATIS swimming carnival.

Our swimmers did so well, with ribbons galore (of all colours) won and happily on display.

Ultimately, nothing makes us prouder than taking a team to carnivals that consistently uphold our four R's at all times - and all our swimmers did just that. Irrespective of placings, every team member should be congratulated on their efforts and most importantly, the way they represented SMC. It was an honour to watch them in action.

Mia Styles in Year 6 took home the Bill Henderson Shield which is awarded to the champion Year 6 male and female swimmers of the meet. Congratulations to Mia - her dedication to training and competing has certainly been rewarded!

The team will now compete this Friday 31 March in the STCPSSA carnival. We wish them well and know they will do us proud. Congratulations to the following students:
