Dear Parents and Guardians,
Year 7 has hit the ground running this term. In just the first few weeks they have started learning new subjects and topics, have explored the value of First Nation Australian culture and celebrated NAIDOC week, investigated a number of animals and their habitats at the science excursion and celebrated the academic success of peers at the recent assembly. So many experiences packed into a few short weeks.
Some reminders for parents and students:
We look forward to seeing what the new term brings.
Kind Regards,
Brenda Doran

As we embark on a new term, we are excited to welcome our Year 8 students back to Brigidine College Randwick for what promises to be an engaging and purposeful Semester 2.
Setting New Goals for Semester 2:
As we kick off Term 3, our Year 8 students have the opportunity to reflect on their achievements from the first half of the year and set new goals for Semester 2. Encouraging our students to take ownership of their learning and personal development is an essential aspect of our educational philosophy. Your daughters' Pastoral Care teachers will be working closely with the students to help them identify their strengths, and areas for improvement, and to set realistic and meaningful goals that align with their aspirations. Please take some time over the next few weeks to discuss what goals your daughter has set for herself this Semester.
Charitable Projects in Pastoral Care Lessons:
At Brigidine College Randwick, nurturing the values of compassion and empathy in our students is of great importance within our educational ethos. During Pastoral Care lessons this term, our Year 8 students will be actively involved in charitable projects that allow them to give back to the community and make a positive impact on the lives of others. We firmly believe that engaging in acts of service and philanthropy empowers our students to become compassionate leaders and respectful members of our community. We are looking forward to sharing more about this project and future events and achievements of Year 8 with you this term.
Wishing you all a wonderful start to Term 3!

Dear Year 9 Parents and Students,
Welcome back to Brigidne College, Randwick for Term 3!
We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break, and we are excited to begin this new term with you. As we move forward, let's embrace the opportunities and challenges that await us, working together to make this term a fulfilling and successful one.
As we begin this term, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support and partnership in your daughter's education. Your involvement plays a vital role in creating a nurturing and thriving academic environment. Together, we can inspire and empower our young students to reach their full potential. Term 3 presents an array of exciting opportunities for our Year 9 students. It is a time of exploration, deeper learning, and building on the strong foundations they have established in previous terms. Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to providing a stimulating and inclusive learning environment, where each student is valued and supported. The Year 9 Team will continue to foster a love for learning, encouraging curiosity, and nurturing a growth mindset and overall wellbeing. My aim is to equip the students with the tools they need to navigate the challenges of today's world with confidence and resilience.
As partners in your daughter's educational journey, I believe in open communication and collaboration. If you do need anything I am readily available to address any concerns or questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you should have any questions or concerns.
Reminders and Resources
As we settle into the new term, we remind students to come prepared for each class, ready to actively participate and engage in their learning journey. Our school library and teaching staff are available for study support, so please encourage your child to make the most of these valuable tools.
The Importance of Goal Setting
Goal setting is a powerful tool that enables students to envision their aspirations, create a roadmap for success, and stay focused on their dreams. By setting clear and achievable objectives, students can build self-discipline, develop a growth mindset, and take proactive steps towards realizing their full potential.
Setting SMART Goals
During this term, our students will continue to use the concept of SMART goals - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. By applying this framework, they will learn to define precise and realistic targets, track their progress, and celebrate their accomplishments along the way. This will be used for the individual learning and well-being goals as well as their Pastoral Care goals.
Once again, welcome back to Term 3! I am excited to continue on this journey with you and your daughters. Together, we will make it a memorable and successful term for our Year 9 students.

Mr Munguia is currently on the WYD Pilgrimage through the Holy Lands. Here is what he has been up to:
During the WYD Pilgrimage to the Holy Lands, Mr Munguia has been experiencing a truly remarkable spiritual journey. Starting at The Church of the Nativity, the group had the privilege of visiting the very place where Jesus was born. This significant stop allowed them to connect with the history and significance of this holy site.
Continuing their pilgrimage, they have been walking in the footsteps of Jesus, retracing the paths He once walked. Just today, they had the incredible opportunity to partake in a mass on the sacred waters of the Sea of Galilee. This momentous occasion was presided over by Archbishop Fisher, who led them in a deeply meaningful Mass. The Sea of Galilee holds special significance in Christianity, as it was the site of many pivotal events in Jesus' life and ministry.
As they continue their journey, there is no doubt that each moment will be filled with profound spiritual encounters and unforgettable experiences. We eagerly await Mr Munguia's return and look forward to hearing more about his transformative pilgrimage to the Holy Lands and on to Lisbon for World Youth Day.
Term 3 has kicked off at a frenetic pace for Year 11 with a large number of students representing the College in a variety of contexts. We have 3 Year 11 representatives attending World Youth Day in Portugal, Leela Money, Amelia Halonkin and Molly Menzel. We wish them Godspeed and good luck in their travels throughout Europe and Portugal.
Year 11 work placement for our VET students commenced this week. This does see quite a number of students getting a taste of what it is like to be employed in a range of different occupations in a variety of locations.
The Year 12 Senior Jersey for 2024 is in the process of selection with Mrs Quirk and the College Executive approving 3 designs by our Jersey Committee. Voting on the 3 design choices has concluded and we have come to a final decision. Further information on sizing and cost will be communicated to students, parents and guardians.
I would like to finish with a few gentle reminders regarding the College uniform. All students are required to wear their college blazers to and from school. If students are wearing an undershirt this has to be covered at all times by either the blazer or the college cardigan/jumper. If there are any issues with any of these requirements please do not hesitate to contact me or the college for further information.

Dear Parents and Carers,
This term commences with the reality that our Year 12 students will move into the next phase of their life. It is a bittersweet moment for me as I have watched their growth, development and their resilience to face the challenges ahead.
Term 3 will be a challenging and resourceful one. We celebrated Mass on Friday, 18 July, where we placed the intentions and prayers of Year 12 students before God in preparation for their trial examinations.
Each student has a copy of the Trial timetable alongside the guidelines /expectations that are required by NESA. During this period, could you please support and encourage your daughter to have a balance between her study preparations, managing her well-being practices and promoting some healthy sleep practices. If your daughter is quite ill on the day of the examination, please contact as a matter of urgency Ms Agazzi and obtain a Doctor's Certificate and complete the Illness/Misadventure form. On her return to school, this documentation needs to be given to Ms Agazzi.
The Year 12 Pastoral Care Team and I wish every Year 12 Student every success in her preparation and in the completion of her Trial Examinations.
God bless,
Adriana Parsons
