This term in Prep Music Innovation, students will explore and learn about the Ukulele. They will first be introduced to the background of the Ukulele (where it came from, how many different types there are etc.), the different parts of the Ukulele and how to hold the Ukulele. As the term continues, students will learn how to change the pitch of the Ukulele by putting fingers down on each string and practise their strumming. Once students are comfortable placing fingers down, they will transfer their knowledge of strumming to play simple chords such as C major. To do this they are required to strum all strings and place fingers down on different strings at the same time.
