Principal's Report

 Principal’s Report 4th August

LEADERSHIP TEAM UPDATE

This week the leadership team welcomed two additional members to our meeting. We were joined by our School Captains, Miller H & Charlotte P. They arrived in a timely manner and were well prepared to share their thoughts and questions with us, in relation to improving students’ experience and engagement during break times. We were thrilled to hear about things that are going well and answer the questions Miller and Charlotte had. We were also able to document suggestions for the future and left them with action items which they will report back to us in a fortnight’s time. During this timeframe, Miller and Charlotte will be speaking with their peers, students across the school as well as some staff to gain a better understanding of where we are at in relation to (a) lunchtime clubs and (b) the purpose and access of the Front of School area.

PARENT/CAREGIVER/GUARDIAN OPINION SURVEY

It is that time of the year again where we invite and encourage our community to engage in the 2023 Parent Opinion Survey. Responses are completely anonymous so please be open and honest. Your opinions are important to us and will inform, contribute and direct the future management and organisation of our school.

Instructions on how to access and complete the survey were sent out earlier this week via Compass, but please get in touch with the office if you require these again.

PREP 100 DAYS OF SCHOOL

Our lovely Prep students and teachers celebrated 100 Days of School on Wednesday 2nd August. With great excitement they all dressed up as 100 year old versions of themselves and no doubt were very tired little people at the end of the day. The day started with a Prep assembly and a sing along to ‘On My Way’ after which every student received their 100 Day certificate.

Below are some student responses, when asked what the best part of the day was:

  • decorating cookies
  • singing the song
  • everything!
  • the craft (making a wrinkly face)

PRINCIPAL/LEADERSHIP DAY

WOW! What an overwhelming start to our day. The Principal Class team arrived to balloons and signs on our office doors. We were treated to a special morning tea put on by all the amazing staff and had students drop in throughout the day with cards, messages and drawings. We also got flowers from our little preps.

As a Principal Class team, we have always felt very privileged to work here and we are so very proud of the school and wider community that we are part of. Today has really consolidated the sense of belonging that we feel, working together at Lyndhurst Primary School.

A big THANK YOU to all our staff for making today very special for us.
