From the Music Room…

Last week we had a guest visit us in the music room! Mr Ringin (5/6M) played the 

bagpipes for the year 1's and 2's. He showed us all the parts and how they worked: the drones, the reeds, the chanter and the bellows. 

Thanks Mr Ringin for helping us learn about "Aerophones" (instruments that are played with air).

This week some grades had a look inside the piano! We saw how the hammer hits the strings and what the effect of the pedals has on the sound. This helped us learn about “Chordophones” (instruments that have strings) and viewing the piano as part of the String family.
