Mini Sculptures

Our Foundation students have been inspired by the bright illustrations of Eric Carle in The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They practised their sculpting skills by rolling, pinching and stretching air dry clay to form a caterpillar or butterfly. These little insects were then perched onto twigs before being brightly painted. We even had some cocoons added to the sculptures to help demonstrate the transformation. The end results are magical!
