Assistant Principal's Report

Riding Bikes and Scooters

To maintain a safe school ground, all students need to walk their bike or scooter through the school and straight to the bike racks. There have been many students that I have reminded, often day after day, of this process. It is very easy for a rider to be involved in an accident when moving through the school, especially during drop off and pick up times. We love to see students riding through the school outside of 8:30am - 4:00pm as it promotes a healthy approach to out of school activities, however during these times they need to be walked through the school.

Facebook

One of our goals this year is to reach wider across Heathmont and the surrounding suburbs letting people know of how great Marlborough is. One of these ways is through social media. For those of you who already follow our school Facebook page, you may have already noticed an increase in what is going up on the page. This not only provides a great tool for families to see what is happening each day, which can spark conversations about school, it also allows us to promote the school to prospective families. If you know families at the school who are not on the general school Facebook page please let them know about it, and also by 'reacting' to posts or commenting on posts it promotes our school through your friends and family, who may be looking for schools.

Dogs on the school ground

I just wanted to remind families that last year our Dogs in School policy was created outlining that dogs are not permitted on the school grounds. This is for a range of reasons, however, we have had to clean up after a number of dogs this year already.
