Important Message

Any student leaving Kildare Catholic College during the year to attend another school, TAFE or commence full time employment needs to collect a “Leavers Form” from the front office and have it signed by the Resource Centre, Canteen, House Coordinator, and the Principal. The student must then have this form signed by their parent/guardian and returned to the front office.

Application for Leave

If students need to be absent from school for five or more days they now need to obtain approval from the Principal and complete an Application For Leave Form. This has been put in place by the government and we need to commit to this procedure. Forms are available at the front office or downloaded below. If approval is not given or sought from the Principal, students will be marked as an unexplained absence.

Medical Plans

NSW Department of Education advises that:

"When students need help with health issues at school, parents may need to consult with their medical practitioner about the implications of the child's health condition for their schooling and any actions that need to occur during the school day. Parents need to convey relevant information from the medical practitioner to the Principal in writing."

PCYC Wagga launch pilot Emergency Services program for local young people

PCYC Wagga Wagga in partnership with local Police and locally based Emergency Services are calling for nominations for the PCYC NSW Emergency Services Cadets pilot program

The PCYC NSW Emergency Services Cadets pilot program will provide opportunities for young people, aged 12 to 17, to engage in a diverse range of emergency response skills from highly experienced personnel. The program will also include a structured fitness component.

PCYC Wagga Wagga Wagga are seeking expressions of interest from local young people wanting to be involved in the pilot program. The program will be run over 14 weeks between May and October 2019. Sessions will be held on Monday evenings. Our main Camp will be occur in 2nd week of July Holidays July 14 – 18. The initial intake will be for 20 young people.

“Teenagers will get the opportunity to learn new skills, test themselves, grow and be part of a team,” said Jon Morgan, Program Coordinator, PCYC Wagga Wagga.

“Each week young people will be hosted at a designated Police or Emergency Service headquarters. During the program cadets will learn the specifics of each service and be provided with training and challenges that they would experience being part of that unit.”

Cadets will also be mobilised throughout the year to help at local events and other activities. They will also be invited back to gain new skills, join PCYC NSW’s Blues Star Leadership program and gain certificates through the PCYC Institute (RTO).

The program also aims to boost involvement in Emergency Services in the long-term as it will provide a key recruitment pathway for both paid and volunteer Emergency staff across NSW.

“We are proud to be launching this pilot program here in Wagga. The goal is to have this program available across the state in the coming years” said Brett Somerville, Manager, PCYC Wagga Wagga.

“We really wanted to provide young people with an active program based on helping others in their community. If we can help these young along their career path into the NSW Police or an Emergency Service that would be a great outcome.”
