Year 10 Excursion to
Wagga Court House
Year 10 Commerce and 12 Legal Studies took a trip to the Wagga Wagga Court House to see what they have been learning in the classroom in action. After walking through X-ray and the teacher having her first aid kit scissors confiscated; students were taken on a tour of the court house and told that if they had their phones out during the court sittings they faced two years in jail or an $11,000 fine! Despite this, the students immediately noticed that court was not as intense as what they see on Netflix. It was slow and considered with little argument. Students enjoyed seeing how the law works in peoples lives as the cases were real, the people were real and the judgement was final! Their exuberant conversation continued on the bus back to school and into recess. The students were outstanding in their conduct while representing the school.
