School Council Update

Welcome back to Term 2. There is quite a bit (actually A LOT!) of activity around the school and we want to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the fun!

Mr. Fletcher and Mrs D have plans under way for a Family Maths Night, on Thursday 26 May. This is a great opportunity to work through some tricky games and fun problems with your child/children in a series of activities around the school.

TPS is holding its Election Day sausage sizzle and cake stall on Saturday 21 May. It’s a great community event and we need a lot of helpers to turn a sausage, run the registers, set up and pack away. The children love it and they can participate with helping out on the day for an hour or two. Start planning for  what you’re going to bake and watch out for the ‘baking packs’ full of packaging which will be sent home in school bags next week. We need lots of volunteers on the day and lots of baked goods to sell!

School Council, through the parent rep network, is always thinking of how best to communicate with parents and guardians. Each week the parent class reps send out an email with updates on upcoming activities and volunteering opportunities. Lots of classes use the platform ‘WhatsApp’ to keep up to date and share information about things related to your class. The school will circulate the link to your class WhatsApp group along with simple instructions so you can join and stay in touch. Feel free to drop me a line with any other ideas you might have to help everyone know what’s going on.

Also, a big thank you to Danielle Boddinar and Jodie McMaster for organising the hugely successful Mother’s Day stall this week. The inaugural Mother’s Day lunch, organised by Sandra O’Neil, Jade Saunders, Michelle Stephens, Salli Walker, Amy Roylance, Tess Mollard and Lainie Monk, will also be a highlight of the week. Thank-you!

Events like this can’t go ahead without parent involvement and are such an important way to bring community spirit, happiness and joy to our school.

Thank you!
