Project Compassion - Thank you

Over the last 4 weeks, our students and their families have been making regular donations to Project Compassion in Homegroups. They have been hearing  the feature stories and about how Caritas Australia's support has transformed their life and enabled them to rise out of poverty.

On behalf of Caritas Australia, thank you for supporting the Project Compassion Campaign. Your generosity will work for the freedom of those living in poverty, challenge unjust structures, and empower people to work for a sustainable way of life. This is a powerful force for good which helps to re-develop lives.

The generous contributions of the College Community as a whole, so far total $898.95. If you wish to make a further donation to Project Compassion, please deliver this to the College Office. Thank you.

Jesus Calms the Storm of our lives!

The global despair and uncertainty that is dominating our world at present, reminds us of the story of Jesus caught in the storm, from Matthew's Gospel - Chapter 8. This current storm certainly summons us to reflect upon whom or what matters most to us, encouraging us to consider how we will positively use the time we have at home, while socially isolating!

How reassuring it is to know that God’s Son has the power to calm the seas of our life. When his full attention is directed toward our earth through prayer, people will dwell in a greater sense of peace, in their hearts and minds. During our Lenten journey, may we turn back to God in prayer to find such reassurance.

Then He got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” Matthew 8:23-27

Let us call on our Mother Mary and her son Jesus, to bring us peace at this challenging time;

Dearest Loving Father, please give me the peace that surpasses all understanding.

When times are tough, when the pressure rises, and when stress builds, please send me peace. Help me to know that only true peace comes from you. When life seems like a storm that I can’t get out of, let me know that you are the light that will always shine through.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Virtual Easter Liturgy

This year, we will share the message of Easter, in a virtual Liturgy, centred around the theme, ‘Hope on the Horizon’ a reflection on Jesus’ resurrection and the hope we place in our future as Christians. Students will reflect upon the Easter story, using metaphor and symbolism, prompting reflection to consider their place in the Christian story of salvation.

I take this opportunity to wish all our families a blessed Easter season, filled with good health, peace and love. Enjoy the opportunity for some special family time over the School Holidays. Please stay safe and well.
