VICTORIAN PRIMARY STATE SCHOOLS SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

On Friday 29th of April, Allegra D in year 6 competed at the Victorian Primary State  Schools swimming championships, representing Murrumbeena proudly.

What a nervous start to the day, with the first event having a false start; luckily it was the 9/10 age group.

The crowd at Melbourne Sports Aquatic Centre (MSAC) was huge and the competition was held in the outdoor pool.

Allegra’s race was the 5th race for the day; 12/13 girls breaststroke. She stepped up to the block, looking nervous but confident that she had this race. Allegra was in the top 3 for the whole race, catching up to first place at one stage. She finished an INCREDIBLE second place!!  Allegra won a silver medal for the 50m breaststroke at the 2022 state championships, with an impressive time of 43.10.

So much time and dedication went into Allegra achieving this silver medal. Lots of early morning starts for her mum and dad too.

Congratulations Allegra. Everyone at Murrumbeena Primary School is so proud of you.
