WHAT'S HAPPENING IN LEVEL 1

Preps have been working hard on learning not only the names, but the properties of 2D shapes.

They have been describing the shapes in terms of how many edges and corners and have investigated the difference between a square and a rectangle.

Eagle Eyes have been used to locate shapes within the classroom and shapes have been identified using clues given by the teachers. Shapes have been made using our bodies and drawn in the playground using chalk.

Finally, some children have extended their learning to find and sort the 3D shapes of a sphere and a cube.
