Principal's Report

Welcome back to another term.  This is a term that shapes up to be the most normal we’ve had in 2 years! However, it is a short term (9 weeks).

Buildings and Grounds

You will notice the basketball court has been resurfaced and smells really nice.  In the coming weeks we will be getting lines painted and colourful counting and alphabet animals painted around the court as well.  It makes it a much nicer (and safer) play area for our students. Thank you for the money you have all raised from our Colour Run to make this happen!!!!

Jay has finished our new race track out the back near the back soccer pitch.  This is modelled on the Albert Park racetrack.  Students are encouraged to bring along their Matchbox cars or similar and play in this area at recess and lunch.  Jay will be working on the dirt track that will be next to it for monster trucks etc to play on!

Parent Helpers

This week you will have received a parent helpers’ email.  We are looking forward to welcoming helpers back in the classrooms (albeit 2 at a time).  Please look out for that email and if you can help out your child’s grade in any capacity, we welcome you!

Prep Tours

These have begun this week and I will be conducting more next week.  Prep enrolments are important to our school so we can continue to deliver the programs we have in place.  Enrolment packs are available from the office now and anyone looking to book for a tour can find the dates here http://www.langwarrinps.vic.edu.au/enrolment/ if you have a sibling you wish to enrol for 2023 please come into the office to get a pack.

Car Parking

I ask that you please respect the Health and Wellbeing Centre and not park in their carpark at pickup or drop off.  In addition to this I have had several complaints about LPS parents parking in no standing areas and across driveways of houses/units in and around our school. No school has ideal parking at pick up times so patience is needed.

Uniform

We are now moving into the colder months.  Black hoodies (or hoodies of any kind) are NOT part of our school uniform.  Please ensure you organise a school jumper for your child before the weather turns.

Hats will no longer be needed from next week.

Staffing

We would like to welcome Ashley Cooling and Candice Hateley to our Integration team.

Unfortunately, in 2 weeks, we will be saying goodbye to Tania who has been at LPS for the past 10 years providing wonderful supports for students.  Tania will be missed by all!

I will be taking some Long Service Leave from 9th May and will return at the beginning of Term 3. Mrs Pepper will be Acting Principal in my place and Ms Soutar will be Acting Assistant Principal.

I leave the school in very capable hands!

Have a great fortnight,

Mark Moorhouse
