Year 8 Winter Inter-School Sport

Boys AFL

Despite a chaotic and rainy start to the day, Mr Horner and Ms Bainbridge were super impressed with how the boys played across the day. After playing 4 games, the Wantirna team came out of the day as runners up winning 3 games with their only loss to Rowville Sports Academy. In addition to the stellar performances on the field, off it they were equally as respectful, encouraging and hardworking. Teamwork was no issue as they worked well with each other either when playing the opposition or when generously donating players to teams in need of numbers. Ms Bainbridge and Mr Horner were stoked with the efforts on the day and the boys should commend themselves for their performance.

Girls Netball

Wet weather didn’t stop our netballers from getting out there and having a crack. Wantirna had 2 teams playing yesterday with our A team ending up with a 3-1 win/loss with the defeat coming to Rowville Sports Academy while our B team were 2 a piece at the end of the day. All the girls had fun, enjoyed getting back out on the courts and are keen to come back and beat Rowville next year! Each school were great sports, super encouraging and Ms Thomson is proud of all the girls and their efforts!

Badminton

Mr Graham and his badminton team had a wonderful day out in Kilsyth yesterday, winning the day against a lovely, well mannered Boronia side. Each player played to the best of their abilities and kept the Wantirna College spirit while out on the road! All players managed themselves in respectful manners in both playing and officiating roles, willing to lead and give an accepting Boronia team advice and a helping hand. Mr Graham commends his team for their behaviours throughout the day.
