A Message from our new Assistant Principal

I am very excited to join Wantirna College as the new Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning. Staff and students have made me feel very welcome.

What excites me most about Wantirna College is the innovative approach we are taking to teaching, learning and assessment. The school has invested significant energy and resources in recent years to develop quality programs and documentation to support teachers and students to focus on the school's core business - student learning.

The developmental rubrics are powerful tools for assessing learning and capturing learning growth of our students. To support the rubrics, the centered instructional model prioritises differentiated instruction and peer, self and teacher assessment. It's a great combination.

I am looking forward to meeting and working with Wantirna College parents/guardians during college events, on the school council and through the Wantirna Parent Focus Group. If you are a new year 7 parent or someone who is interested in joining our Parent Focus Group, we are keen to hear from you. Please contact Carrie Wallis or myself and we will be in touch to discuss this further.
