YEAR 3-4 REGGIO SNOW TRIP - 21 AUGUST
'Our day in the snow' (my first time seeing the snow) by Obsa
On the snow trip, it was cold. I fell down in the snow. I went tobogganing, I was sliding in the snow and all the cars were covered in snow. It was white soft and fluffy. I can see the ice and it was clean. The snow tasted icy, soft snow.
'My snow fun day' by Adna
This was my first time at the snow. It was quiet and still except for the children. I fell on my bottom three times in a row. It was cold, watery, hard and crunchy. It looked white and fluffy, it smelled like clean air.
'My snow trip at Mount Baw Baw' by Helen
I went to the snow trip on Monday, last week. It was so fun. It was frozen and it made me feel cold.
At first, I couldn’t hear anything, it was quiet. But then something happened. People were boarding and it made a lot of noise and it was very LOUD.
My friend told me that we could eat snow because it is made from cold water. That is a reason why the snow tastes like cold water.
The snow looked fluffy, white and soft.
When I touched the snow it felt icy, crunchy and soft. When I took off my gloves, the snow froze my hands.
Some people say they could smell the snow but I really couldn’t smell anything.

Now in its 14th year, the Rotary Youth Arts Program, delivered by Dancehouse and CCP, offers free, empowering, hands-on arts experiences for young people, teaching life skills such as team work, creativity and confidence. This year, Dancehouse invited James Welsby assisted by James Andrews to lead the dance with the photography workshops being led by Alexander Moffatt.
DANCING THROUGH SHADOW AND LIGHT explores the difference in how we present ourselves publicly and privately. Through group choreography and an exploration of shadows, projections, and photography the show asks: How do we change when we connect with different people? Are our internal and external selves at odds, or are they more connected then they seem? How much can a shadow conceal or reveal about our identities?

REAL INDUSTRY JOB INTERVIEW PROGRAM - YEAR 9, 10 and VCAL STUDENTS
The Real Industry Job Interview (RIJI) Program is a work readiness program that assists students in developing good job search, resume writing and interviewing skills. The program is delivered as part of a school’s curriculum throughout a series of guided lesson plans and concludes in a face-to-face interview with a local volunteer interviewer during a RIJI event. Students will be asked questions relating to their job interest, and then will be provided with feedback and will make suggestions to help them improve, based on their interview performance and on their resume.
The mock-interviews will take place on the following date:
Tuesday 17th October 2017
Fitzroy Town Hall
For more information on the Jobs For Youth Campaign or would like to volunteer at one of our mock interview events please see www.jobsforyouth.com.au or contact RIJI Coordinator Jansu Gaz on jgaz@inllen.org.au.
