STEAM Program

Steam News

This term, we’ve been welcoming the final few classes of Year 7 to participate in our STEAM robotic program. We will be moving onto other Year levels later is term

We are continuing to expand our STEAM collections with new Lego EV3s, the Virtual Reality rig and our expanded green screen setup. Additionally, our 3D printers are in high use as we allow all students to design whatever they want and we will print it out for them. We’ve had many designs for Mother’s Day this year! Remember: if you draw it, we will print it! Students can submit their files via the 3D printer dropbox.

Monday and Thursday Lunchtimes

Each Monday and Thursday lunchtime, the STEAM room is open for use. On a Monday, anything goes, all the technology is available, but on Thursday, we have a program for anyone interested in participating. We’ve already had Virtual Reality game day and Green Screen, but over the next few weeks, we will cover Wearables, 3D Printing, more VR and programming our NAO robot to dance.

Virtual Reality

Virtual RealityThere is a lot of interest in our Virtual Reality gear in the STEAM room and it is in high demand at lunchtimes. In classes, the students have engaged in exploring a virtual body from the skeleton up, being inside a cell floating down a vein and exploring the world through Google Earth
