Mathematics Murder Mystery Activity Day

This term, Mrs Lam has been working with Angus Manchee, Chevy Thorburn, Elizabeth Boydell, Frederick Finlayson and Lachlan Maslin to create a Mathematics Murder Mystery Activity.

The students created 5 different mini games which were then presented to Stage 3 students last Friday.

Students had the opportunity to use their investigative skills to solve the problems which gave them clues to help find the murderer.  All students were successful in deciphering the math games and identifying the murderer.

MiniLit

MiniLit is a literacy program targeted specifically for Year 1 students. It teaches the basics of letter/sound knowledge and decoding skills for CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant words e.g cat, zip, rug) and extends word attack knowledge by teaching commonly used digraphs and longer words.

It is delivered 4 times a week in small groups for an hour a day by a specially trained tutor.

Some Kinder Students have been identified by their class teacher as potentially benefiting from this program. If your child is doing the MiniLit program in 2020 their class teacher will contact you.
