Principal's Report

Welcome

A huge welcome back to term two. The students have had a fantastic start to the term and are following our values and schoolwide expectations. It is great to see the enthusiasm of students and staff and we look forward to the exciting learning experiences that are ahead of us this term.

This is reminder that we have a pupil free day on Monday, 21st May. On this day our staff will be involved in professional development activities.

Building Works

In the previous newsletter I discussed our upcoming building works that are due to commence approximately one year from now. I am now able to show some plans of what will be constructed.

Project A (as marked on plans) will be built first followed by Project B.

This first plan shows the building works including the ground floor of the new building in Project A.

This next plan shows the building works including the first floor of the new building in Project A.

If you have any questions in regard to these works please email me coningsby.jason.a@edumail.vic.gov.au

Parking at Bundoora Campus

As many parents and carers will know, parking can be extremely difficult to find at our Bundoora Campus, particularly at the beginning and end of the school day. We have worked closely with the Banyule Council over the past two years however they have not been forthcoming with any funding to improve this situation.

I request that parents and carers do not ‘double park’ in the back car park as this is extremely unsafe for our students and leads to the likelihood of car accidents. A couple of alternatives to doing this are

  • park on Grimshaw St as it is not a clearway until 3.30pm
  • park in the car spaces at the end of Gleeson Dr that is on the other side of the Loyola Reserve

Your cooperation is appreciated so that we are able to maintain a safe environment for all members of our school community.

School Communication and the Use of Compass

It is important that all parents log into Compass so our school can communicate effectively with you. If you have any questions regarding Compass, or are having difficulty in logging-on, then please ring Karen Jordan at our school on 94673972. The Compass log-on can be found at https://concordsch-vic.compass.education or through the ‘Compass Parent Portal’ link on our website.

Principal's Award

The Principal's Award goes to Brayden Gill

Brayden has made a brilliant start to the year. He has come with a positive, can-do attitude and maintains this when attempting all work in class. Brayden encourages students when they are upset and has made attempts at developing relationships with most students in SJG.

Brayden was selected to represent his class as the SRC rep and has participated enthusiastically in SRC meetings. He holds this title in high regard, and has worked hard to make sure he is living by the school values both on and off campus.

There entire 9/10 staff commend Brayden on the personal growth he has made so far this year, both academically and behaviourally.

"Students striving to be the best they can be"
