FOOTBALL SALARY CAPS & THE COLLINGWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB - Win the Collingwood Draft Experience

Day of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) is giving students, teachers, and schools the chance to enter a new and exciting maths-based challenge, awarding top performers with outstanding 'money can't buy' experiences.

Registrations for the Collingwood STEM Cup are officially open, meaning teachers can sign-up their students for the program that focuses on the career of Collingwood Football Club's Capologist (salary cap specialist), Dominic Milesi.

How it works

The aim of the Cup is to inspire Australian students by placing them in a real world scenario, playing the role of Capologist by using statistics, maths and problem solving skills to draft the ultimate squad (whilst staying under the AFL salary cap).

Aside from learning about the Capologist career and completing the challenge, students will explore other growing career opportunities related to data science, sports analytics and the Internet of Things (IoT). Sandra Hogan, Data Analytics Specialist at SAS, and Nathan Holland, IoT Architect at Cisco, will serve as virtual mentors for students.

Prizes and recognition

All students will generate a personalised STEM resume and earn a Certificate of Completion for the Collingwood STEM Cup. Prizes will be awarded to the top performers on 27 August, including the: 'Draft Day Experience with Mentor Dominic Milesi' - an exceptional behind-the-scenes day with Collingwood FC during draft week.

Closing date

The Collingwood STEM Cup Challenge runs from 18 July through to 20 August. The program can continue beyond the 20 August deadline, but no prizes will be awarded for entries submitted after this date.
