2023 Youth Leadership Conference

On Tuesday 7 March four Aberfoyle Park High School students attended the 2023 Youth Leadership Conference, which was held at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Julia, Kris, Axel and Piper wondered what the day would entail, and asked many questions before we arrived however the conference delivered more than they could have imagined.

With 45 other schools in attendance, our students took part in group activities which took them out of their comfort zones, danced and sang on stage, mixed with other students from across the state, and using the roaming microphone asked relevant questions to the guest speakers.

There was a range of speakers from different backgrounds who spoke about their own journey with leadership, and how they got to where they are today after facing numerous challenges along the way. Their main message was to never give up, and always take yourself out of your comfort zone and say ‘yes’ to everything, because you never know what new opportunities may arise when you do. 

The day was inspiring and gave our four students a chance to challenge themselves and learn positive leadership skills which they will be able to use in the future.
