Maris πŸ’œ

Masses of purple could be seen at MSAC on the 22nd of February! Maris did not come to play at the 2023 swimming carnival, with the competitive spirits running high all day. It was amazing to see participation from Maris students across every year level but a massive shoutout to the new Maris inductees Β (the year sevens) especially who jumped right into the races, screamed the chants and won us house points across the day. Although we didn’t take out the win this year, we still won the house chants, placed in races, set a new house relay record and kept the positive energies running high throughout the entire day which is I think is win for the Maris community!Β

With the athletics carnival coming up, the other houses better be on the lookout (especially you Lyons..) as the girls in purple are on the hunt for more victory!!

GO MARIS!!Β

Lyons 🀍

The 2023 MGC Swimming Carnival was a huge success!Β

The participation in Lyons House really set the standard. We started off the day with a fashion parade, it was great to see everyone dressing up in the theme of Iconic Duos and lots and lots of white (especially the year 7s and 8s).Β

Then chants rolled around, and Lyons was pretty stiff to finish fourth out of four, but our race participation and wins really made up for it.Β

Β

Unfortunately, the year 7/8 zumba was cancelled due to time but the 9/10 and 11/12 zumba led by Brooke Marsland, Macy Tyrrell, and Liv Cavka was a blast!!! Personally, it was my favourite part of the day.Β

Lyons ended up winning the carnival after gathering the most points throughout the day and I couldn’t be happier.Β

Bring on Aths Carnival. GO LYONS!!! 🀍🀍🀍🀍

Chisholm πŸ’š

The MGC 2023 Swimming Carnival, finished off strong with a BANG!Β

Seeing all the Chisholm girls, cheering and pulling up in their wonderful Iconic duos and groups costumes and some fabulously dressed girls in GREEEEEEN was such a delight!Β

It was great to see so many Chisholm fighters out in the pool especially from the Year 7’s – your house Captains are so proud for giving it ago and even winning some of the races! Β All the other Year Levels did incredible to, with so many close calls for 1st and 2nd place.

Even though it took some coaxing, your voices were insanely loud and fierce as we chanted our way throughout the day. The enthusiasm was high and the chants with our races were enough to bring us to ✨Second PlaceΒ πŸ†βœ¨ So good on you girls!

Unfortunately,

Β Zumba was cancelled for the Year 7’s and 8’s but the 9,10,11&12 Zumba hosted by 3 of our wonderful Yr11’s; Brook Marsland, Olivia Cavka and Macy Tyrrell – you girls performed a stunner dance which was so much fun for all of us to do!Β

My favourite out of the whole day was probably the House Captains joining in for the relay! We did amazing and even got a ribbon, so good job to my fellow House CaptainsΒ xxxxx

Overall I couldn’t be more happier with the turn out, from all of you Chisholm warriors. At athletics we’re going to bring the heat and dominant once again – bring your game faces and face paint, we’re scoringΒ GREEN POINTS BABY!Β

GO CHISHOLMΒ
