Week 8 Term 1

FORMING LIVES OF FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST

Dear Parents and Carers,

March 13th to March 20th is a week that recognizes Catholic Education Week in Melbourne.

This year, Catholic Education Week will be celebrated across the Archdiocese of Melbourne from Sunday, 12th March to Sunday, 19th March. The week is an opportunity for our school to join all 334 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese to celebrate our distinctive Catholic identity, our achievements, and the role our school plays within our parish and local communities.

The theme for this year’s celebrations is ‘Forming lives of faith, hope and love in the light of Christ’.

Catholic Education seeks to provide students with a high-quality education that is inspired by the example of Jesus Christ and fosters the development of the whole person, forming individuals with more than just skills, but with the virtues to live life as transformative agents in our communities.

Our school is planning to celebrate the week:

  • Whole School Prayer on Tuesday
  • Whole School Prayer and celebration for St Patrick's Day on Friday
  • School Leaders will be attending the St Patrick's Mass at the Cathedral on Friday, March 17th followed by a Visit to the Creative Art Exhibition at Catholic Leadership Centre
  • Teaching and Learning Sequence around the theme of 'FORMING LIVES OF FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST'

Our School Student Leaders will attend the Mass for schools at St Patrick's Cathedral on Friday, 17th March. Celebrated by Archbishop Peter, followed by the Concert in the Park for Primary school students.

The Creative Arts Exhibition, which showcases the wonderful artwork of Primary and Secondary students in the Archdiocese of Melbourne, will run from Tuesday, 14th March to Saturday, 18th March and is open to the general public. We have some of our students Artwork on display and everyone is welcomed to attend this Creative Arts Exhibition.

SUNDAY MARCH 19TH

St Fidelis Primary School Community Fete Day

Sunday March 19,12:00pm-4:00pm

This week is the last week before our St Fidelis' School Community Fete Day on Sunday, March 19th. If you are able to lend a hand on Saturday for set up from 10:00am that would be most appreciated by the Parents and Friends' Committee. If we have lots of helpers we shouldn't need more than one hour of your time. Looking Forward to a wonderful Community Fete day on Sunday.

Sibling Enrolments for 2024

If you have a child commencing Foundation in 2024, can you please enrol your child by the end of March so we can determine how many places will be available to new families for 2024. Collect your enrolment forms from the school office or download them from our website. At this stage I only have ONE family that has completed and handed in their form for 2024.

Have a lovely week,

Manuela
