Family Engagement

How can families engage with Seesaw?
You may have noticed that Prep-6 students have been using Seesaw to showcase their learning so far this term. The purpose of using this platform is to give you an insight into what your child is learning so that the conversation can continue at home. This will enable families to discuss the specific posts that you have seen on Seesaw and ask questions such as, "I saw that you were making graphs in numeracy today. What data did you use for your graph?"
That is just one example of how you can continue the learning at home. When children know that their parents are engaged with the learning content they will feel empowered to open up about what they found challenging, what they found interesting, and how they might dig deeper on that topic.
The students are learning the skills of uploading their own work onto Seesaw and they can see if a family member has seen, liked or commented on their learning. Students light up when they can see that someone from home has written a positive message about their post, so please comment, like, and then discuss what you saw with your child at home.
If you are finding the Seesaw App difficult to navigate or you're unable to access your child's class page, please contact me on boconnor@tcs.catholic.edu.au or pop in for a chat.
