It has been a busy start to the year in the Health and Science Space. There is a buzz around the labs with students participating in a wide array of practical activities. Our Year 7 students have been familiarising themselves with Scientific laboratory equipment, Year 8s have taken a deep dive into Chemistry at an atomic level, Year 9s have been exploring different types of energy that we use in our everyday lives and Year 10 and 11s have started their Senior course journey in the specific areas of Biology, Psychology, Chemistry and Physics.

Our Year 12 Science students have embarked on their mandatory practical’s with a view to modifications in the completion of their second internal assessment. While some students collected their primary data in the Laboratory setting others, such as the Senior Biology Students, collected data in the field at Nudgee beach Environmental Education Centre.

In Health, we celebrated HPE Week with our HPE teachers sharing their passion for Health Minds and Healthy Bodies with all. We offered an obstacle challenge for all students to participate in and a Volleyball Staff vs Students competition.

Despite some less than ideal weather conditions, HPE week was an absolute success and we look forward to celebrating bigger and better in 2024.

Congratulations to the following students who had the quickest time competing in the HPE Week Obstacle Course:
